I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
